RSSB New Exam Rules 2026: The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board has recently introduced a significant change regarding recruitment examinations, which will render the evaluation system for future exams even more clear and transparent. According to an official notice issued by the Board on March 25, 2026, new rules have now been implemented for the evaluation of question papers and answer sheets (OMR), which will have a direct impact on candidates’ scores. This change specifically pertains to the system of negative marking and the methodology used for evaluating questions.

Section wise Importance is over, now the entire paper is one unit

According to the new rules, now in the examination, separate marks will not be fixed for each section or section like before, rather the entire question paper will be evaluated considering it as one unit. This means that now candidates will have to solve the entire paper in a balanced manner, as relying too much on any one section will not be beneficial. This change has been made with the aim of simplifying the examination process, so that there is no complexity in evaluation and a uniform standard can be applied to all the candidates.

Major Change in Negative Marking

Apart from this, the most important change has been made regarding negative marking. If a candidate gives a wrong answer, one-third (1/3) of the marks allotted to him/her will be deducted or the marks will be deducted as per the rules. With this, now the candidates will have to avoid guessing and will have to solve only those questions whose answers they know completely. This rule has been implemented with the aim of improving the quality of the examination and bringing forward the right talent.

Which examinations will the new rules apply to?

This new revised evaluation system will be applicable to all direct recruitment examinations to be conducted in future. Along with this, this rule will also be applicable on those examinations whose results have not been declared yet. That means the results of many ongoing recruitments can also be released on the basis of this new rule. Overall, this decision of Rajasthan Staff Selection Board is a big step towards making the examination system more transparent, fair and competitive. Now the candidates have to prepare for the exam with more caution and strategy, because even a small mistake can affect their final result.
